Week 2 NFL Predictions Against the Spread 2011

Picks subject to change based on injury news that occurs later in the week.

UPDATE 9 16 11: I'm making one change: I'm going with the Chicago Bears in an upset over the New Orleans Saints. Gut has been getting at me all week to do it and I'm giving in.

UPDATE 9 16 11: I'm going with the 49ers over the Cowboys right now. Far too many concerns with the defensive backfield and the slow progression of Dez Bryant. Even if he plays, he probably won't be at 100%.

Upset picks

Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, Atlanta Falcons, Cincinnati Bengals, Chicago Bears, San Francisco 49ers

Top 10 NFL Draft Busts of All Time

Russell is the only guy who can give Leaf a run for his money as the all time bust. He could throw the football on his knees 50 yards on a line, but he could not actually play the game in the pros.

3. Russell Erxleben, No. 11 pick by New Orleans in 1979Unbelievably stupid move. Erxleben was a kicker, for god's sake, and Joe Montana and Kellen Winslow were still on the board!

Erxleben played six years. He's Julian Edelman Jersey since been convicted of securities fraud and again for investment fraud.

4. Tim Tebow, first round pick by Denver in 2010Tebow was a living god in Gainesville for the Florida Gators and did everything a mortal could do in college football.

But, his intense Christianity alienated people in the pros, and a hitch in his throwing motion doomed him in the NFL.

He's an analyst now and still trying to get back in the game. No one seems to want him.

5. Tony Mandarich, No. 2 pick by Green Bay in 1989Here are the players the Rob Gronkowski Womens Jersey Packers could have drafted: Barry Sanders, Derrick Thomas and Deion Sanders, just to name a few.

Mandarich is another poster child: "Alcohol and steroids don't mix."

6. Tim Couch, first overall pick by Cleveland in 1999Couch had some good moments with the Browns, but it turned out in the end that he simply wasn't good enough to justify being a No. 1 pick.

Actually, he wasn't good enough to be Rob Gronkowski Patriots Jersey a starting quarterback.

He's now a football analyst for Fox.

7. Brian Bosworth, round one supplemental pick by Seattle in 1987Everybody wanted a haircut like "The Boz" back in the late 80s. But, he only played for three NFL seasons, highlighted by his getting run over by Bo Jackson.

He's now a better actor than football player, if one can imagine that.

8. Heath Shuler, third overall pick by Washington in 1994Shuler didn't have any drug, crime or gambling problems. He just turned out to be not very good. He barely lasted three years in the league. Congress.

9. Lawrence Phillips, No. 6 overall pick by St. Louis in 1996The Rams traded Jerome Bettis to get this guy. Phillips spent almost as much time in jail as on the football field.

The Rams got sick of his constant run ins with the law. Next up was Miami, where he lasted two games before more trouble with the law.

He tried a comeback with San Francisco that didn't work out. Then oh well, long story short, Phillips is currently incarcerated in California and won't be eligible to get out until he's 57 years old.

10. Julian Edelman Elite Jersey Todd Marinovich, First round pick by Los Angeles in 1991Marinovich beats out Dan McGwire, the other quarterback taken in the first round of the 1991 draft. That was the same year Brett Favre was drafted in the second round.

Once called "Robo quarterback" because of his intense workouts and life long pursuit of an NFL career, Marinovich turned out to be just another drug addict.

Team Player School Pos Grade

Utah prospects NFL Dominique Easley Jersey Draft analysis day two

The 2014 NFL Draft is history and in the final four rounds, four prospects were drafted. In total, five players from Utah colleges were drafted and several more should be signed as undrafted free agents. Here is my analysis and grades for every Utah prospect taken in rounds four through seven:

The Rams grab Alexander, who's a big hitter and will fit nicely on special teams, but the team also passed on cornerbacks like Keith McGill Tom Brady Elite Jersey and Pierre Desir, as well as a need for a backup quarterback. Alexander could factor into the safety battle in St. Louis.

Fourth Round Oakland Raiders Keith McGill Utah Cornerback A

The Raiders find great value in Dominique Easley Elite Jersey McGill here, who could have gone two rounds earlier. He has similar issues to most taller corners with stiffer hips and the tendency to get beat by fast receivers, but he also has great size and can stand up as a nickel corner. Oakland needs talent all over the roster and McGill will help add size to a secondary that battles guys like Keenan Allen, Demaryius Thomas and Dwayne Bowe.

Fourth Round Detroit Lions Nevin Tom Brady Patriots Jersey Lawson Utah State Cornerback A

The Lions finally address a crying need at corner by taking Utah State's Lawson. Lawson had a great senior bowl and combine, boosting his stock in the eyes of people that may not have followed him closely at Utah State. He's raw compared with cornerbacks taken above him, but he's quick, fluid and can be an upper end nickel corner and eventual second corner.

Seventh Round New York Jets Trevor Reilly Utah OLB A

Reilly going this late was a surprise, but the Jets get a steal. He's coming off knee surgery and is an older prospect, but was one of the most underrated pass rushers in the country last season and has the ability to lead a defense. Rex Ryan will get the most out of him as a situational pass rusher and special teams player. We will delete comments containing obscenities, personal attacks and inappropriate or offensive remarks. What NFL Teams Will Make the Playoffs

What NFC teams cheap nfl jerseys will make the playoffs? Saints have already locked up a spot but what teams will fill the rest? NFC NORTH

Minnesota leads the NFC North with their record of 10 2. Green Bay is not too far behind with their record of 8 4. Green Bay has games remaining between Chicago, Pittsburgh, Seattle, and Arizona. Green Bay will win at least two of those games defeating Chicago and Seattle. With the way Pittsburgh has been playing they might be able to pick up a win in that game as well. Green Bay will end the season at 10 6 earning themselves a wild card spot. Along with Minnesota, Green Bay will be representing the NFC North in the playoffs.

Saints are on top of the NFC South with their undefeated record of 12 0. Atlanta is in second place with a record of 6 6. It is impossible for Atlanta to catch the Saints and win the division, but could they earn a wild card spot? Atlanta does not have a shot at earning a wild card spot. Even if Matt Ryan returns from injury they have a lot of work to do. They trail the Giants, Packers, and Eagles. It's easy to pass one team, but it's hard to pass three. Therefore the Saints will be the only team out of the NFC South making the playoffs.

Arizona leads the NFC West with their 8 4 record. San Francisco and Seattle are three games behind with their 5 7 records. Even though both teams still have a chance at making the playoffs. Those chances are slim, they would need to win out and end the season at 9 7. It's possible to win four in a year, but I don't think Dallas, Philadelphia, Green Bay, or NY will drop four in a row. Therefore the Cardinals will be the only team from the cheap jerseys NFC West making the playoffs.

Dallas is currently on top of their division with an 8 4 record, but Philadelphia has the same record. The New York Giants are not too far behind with their 7 5 record. Three teams fighting for one remaining playoff spot. Neither team has an easy schedule down the stretch. The Giants must face the Eagles, Red Skins, Panthers, and Vikings. I'm giving them wins over the Red Skins and Panthers, but they will fall to the Eagles, and Vikings, allowing them to finish the season at 9 7. Dallas has to play San Diego, New Orleans, Washington, and Philadelphia. I'm giving Dallas the win over Washington, but they will fall to San Diego and New Orleans. Philadelphia must play NY Giants, San Francisco, Denver, and Dallas. I'm giving Philly the win over New York and San Francisco. They will lose to Denver, giving them a 10 5 record heading into the final week of the season. The final game of the season is against Dallas who I am putting at a 9 6 record. Dallas will win the final game of the season giving both Philadelphia and Dallas a 10 6 record. Dallas would win the division tie breaker since they defeated Philly both times this season. Dallas would emerge as the division leader, but Philly will still make the playoffs claiming a wild card spot.
